BIDDEFORD — Beatrice Pothier, 83, a longtime resident of York Manor in Biddeford, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. Andre’s Health Care Facility.

She was born June 30, 1930 in Brunswick, the only daughter of George J. and Rosie M. (Dickinson) Allard.

Beatrice came here as a child and was educated locally, graduating from Biddeford High School in the Class of 1948.

Mrs. Pothier worked as a secretary at Saco-Lowell Shops, Garland Manufacturing Company and St. Francis College.

She enjoyed reading, knitting and travel.

She had been a member of St. Andre’s Church.

Beatrice had been married to Roland Pothier for 38 years; he preceded her in death in 1989.

There are no known relatives.

There will be no visiting hours. Graveside services and burial will be on Thursday, March 27 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. To share condolences online, visit www.hopememorial.com.
