BIDDEFORD — Simonne Doyon, 95, formerly of Biddeford, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Seal Rock Health Care in Saco.
She was born Feb. 8, 1919 in Biddeford, a daughter of Onesime and Amanda (Raymond) Parent, and was educated at St. Andre’s School.
In 1957, she married Louis Doyon at St. Andre’s Church.
She was employed at Bates Mfg. for most of her working life and later at John Roberts Mfg. in Biddeford, retiring in 1981.
She enjoyed knitting and was a very active member of the knitting group at the Ross Community Center in Biddeford, where she donated much of her time and many hand-knit items.
Mrs. Doyon had been a member of St. Joseph’s Church.
Simonne was preceded in death by: her husband, Louis in 1959; two sisters, Yvonne Allen in 2003 and Marie Ange Chretien in 2012; and a brother, Gerard Parent in 2006.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 9-10 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Anne Chapel of St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
