BIDDEFORD — Ange Aimee Allaire, 81, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2014, with her family by her side, at The Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough.

Ange was born on June 16, 1932, to Fortunate and Marie Louise (Bourgault) Turcotte. She attended primary schooling in Ste. Rose, Quebec, Canada, and went on to Notre Dame Lisse Nursing School in Montreal.

After graduating from nursing school, she came to Biddeford, working at Notre Dame Hospital as a maternity nurse.

On Sept. 7, 1957, she married Normand J. Allaire at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.

For many years, she worked in many manufacturing jobs, where she retired in 1998 from Pratt Whitney.

Ange loved her family. She and her husband were passionate travelers, taking many warm weather cruises, visiting the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Niagara Falls and an Alaskan cruise to mention a few. She was also able to travel after her husband died in 2004 to Europe, visiting Italy and France. A favorite trip was for long walks on the beaches collecting rocks and shells.

She was proud to be a Eucharistic minister, ministering to the sick and elderly in local nursing homes and the hospital. Ange was active in the parish with the Daughters of Isabella and working many luncheons.

She was preceded in death by: her husband of 47 years, Normand J. Allaire.

Ange’s family will miss her: one son, Normand V. Allaire and his wife Gail of Biddeford; one granddaughter, Amy Blais and her husband Joseph; one grandson, Andrew M. Allaire and his fianc?e Holli Googins of Biddeford; one great-grandson, Tyler Joseph Blais; one sister-in-law, Florette Leclair and her husband Roger of Biddeford; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday April 8, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will follow immediately after visiting hours at 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Chapel of St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
