CONCORD, N.H. — David Ortiz came to Concord to promote a Boston Red Sox scratch ticket and found a couple hundred cheering residents of Red Sox Nation, New Hampshire Chapter, waiting for him.

Ortiz, or Big Papi as the crowd could tell you, joined Red Sox executive Sam Kennedy, Gov. Maggie Hassan, lottery officials and the Red Sox mascot “Wally the Green Monster” outside the Statehouse Monday.

They were there to relaunch a $5 ticket Red Sox scratch-off ticket, which features a $75,000 top prize. Ortiz praised the state for raising $1.5 billion for education through the lottery.

Ortiz and Wally tossed foam baseballs to the crowd after the presentation. There were a lot of Ortiz’s No. 34 jerseys to be seen.

The Red Sox 2013 World Series trophy also was on display.
