MEDWAY — Michael A. LeBlanc, 59, of Medway, formerly of Saco, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Michael was born Oct. 1, 1954 in Burlington, Vt., a son of Arthur C. LeBlanc and Barbara L. (Albert) LeBlanc.

He graduated from Thornton Academy, Class of 1972. He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Southern Maine. He also received special training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Va.

Michael retired from the Kennebunk Police Department after 30 years of service, at the rank of captain.

He was a devout Christian, dedicated father and family man. He had coached Little League and track. He also enjoyed bicycle riding and racing, boxing, computers, photography, volleyball and music. He loved sharing his knowledge and passion of all he learned and practiced with others.

Michael was preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Alicia A. Boyne; and two brothers, Arthur J. and David J. LeBlanc.

He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Dardia of Boston, Jane LeBlanc of Florida and Julie LeBlanc of Berwick; his sons, Michael and Luke LeBlanc of Kennebunk; two brothers, Kenneth J. LeBlanc of Gloucester, Mass. and Paul R. LeBlanc of Saco; two sisters, Joan A. Beaulieu of Saco and Julie L. Briggeman of North Waterboro; his ex-wife, Billie Marie LeBlanc of Kennebunk; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 10 a.m. to noon at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St. in Saco. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at noon.
