I would like to echo the sentiments of William Lee in his April 28 letter (“Report on ‘Maine psychic’ questioned”) as he questions validating Vicki Monroe, dubbed a “Maine psychic” by your reporter Ray Routhier.
Maine needs to proudly embrace science, not unverifiable folk myths. Vicki Monroe is financially exploiting people who are grieving for loved ones who have died. She used to pass herself off as a “doctor” until it was pointed out that her “doctorate” was obtained through an Internet diploma mill.
Whenever I see her appearance being advertised, I cringe that visitors from away think she represents all Mainers.
