WATERVILLE — A man brandished a knife when he robbed a man and woman who were trying to make a deposit at Bangor Savings Bank Sunday afternoon, police said.
A little after 2 p.m., a man and woman were in a vehicle trying to make a deposit at the Bangor Savings Bank at 336 Main St. when a man appeared with a knife and demanded their money, according to a news release from the Waterville Police Department.

The woman called police to report the robbery, and Oakland, Winslow and Fairfield police all responded, as did Maine State Police. The man, described as white, of average height and in his 20s, fled on foot with the money toward Home Depot, according to police.
A state police search dog led police from the bank to the Home Depot parking lot. Police continue to follow leads.
No one was injured in the incident.
Police aren’t releasing the amount of money stolen or a more detailed description of the robber or weapon used, but are asking anyone who was in the area of Waterville Commons Drive at the time of the incident to contact them with any useful information at 680-4700.
