FREEPORT — Sam Wogan and Connor Dostie each scored three goals and assisted on a fourth Tuesday to lead Freeport to an 8-5 win over Waynflete in boys’ lacrosse.

Brady LaFrance and Ramsey Dodge added a goal and an assist apiece, and Zac Wogan saved 21 in goal for Freeport (5-2).

Waynflete is 4-2.

SOUTH PORTLAND 12, THORNTON ACADEMY 6: Jack Fiorini had four goals and two assists to lead the Red Riots (6-0) over the Trojans (4-3) at South Portland.

Andrew Whipple added two goals and three assists, and Duncan Preston finished with a goal and three assists.

Zach Bryant had three goals and Cody Falton had two goals and an assist for Thornton.

Edward Hellier made 16 saves for the Red Riots. Andrew Bullard stopped seven shots for the Trojans.

YORK 13, WELLS 8: Tucker Fegan and Trenton Spencer each had three goals, and Eli Loeffler three assists, to lead the Wildcats (2-4) past Wells (1-5) in York.

Jack Rohrer added two goals for York. Courtland Austin netted three goals for the Warriors, and Alex McCormack-Kuhman and Ryan Marsh two each.

BASEBALL

BIDDEFORD 7, DEERING 4: Corey Brown hit a two-run single to spark a three-run seventh inning that broke open a one-run game and lifted the Tigers (6-2) to a win over the Rams (2-6) at Portland.

Brady Crepeau and Jeff Thompson finished with two hits apiece for the Tigers and Casey Twomey added a two-run triple.

Deering was paced by Nick Bevilacqua, who had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in a pair of runs.

WESTBROOK 5, NOBLE 4: Blake Fillmore hit an RBI single and scored the eventual winning run on a balk in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Blue Blazes (6-1) built a 5-3 lead and held on to edge the Knights (2-6) at Westbrook.

Austin Blake added an RBI single during a three-run third inning for Westbrook and sophomore Keigan Sears pitched a six-hitter to earn his first varsity win.

Joshua Schultz and Grayson Waterman had two hits apiece for Noble. Schultz also scored a run and Waterman drove in one.

SCARBOROUGH 5, WINDHAM 4: The visiting Red Storm (3-4) scored the winning run on a throwing error in the seventh inning and went on to beat the Eagles (4-4).

Nick Suchecki and Nate Wessel each hit an RBI double in the third when the Red Storm scored three to tie it at 4.

Windham scored two in the first on a single by Tanner Laberge and a double by Tyler Johnson.

Reliever Ben Greenburg (3-0) got the win after taking over for starter Matt Hartl in the sixth.

YORK 21, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: After Derek Neal’s bases-loaded double keyed a seven-run second-inning rally, York (5-3) added five in the third before invoking the mercy rule with nine runs in the fifth inning against the Patriots (5-3) in Gray.

Neal finished with six RBI and two runs scored on four hits. Cole Merritt and Jordan Pidgeon also had three hits each for the Wildcats. Tyler St. Pierre had three of the five singles allowed by G-NG pitcher Trevor LaBonte.
