SCARBOROUGH – Residents turned down the proposed $36.5 million Scarborough school budget amidst low voter turnout on Tuesday. The budget was rejected in a vote of 1,169 against to 1,013 for, according to Town Clerk Yolande Justice. A second question asking whether the budget was too high or too low had 1,257 voters saying the proposed new spending package was too high.
