Brian Petrovek, who resigned from the Portland Pirates in late April after leading the American Hockey League franchise for nearly 14 years, will be announced Friday as the president of the new AHL team in Glens Fall, New York.

Petrovek confirmed the news Thursday night. Joining him Friday will be Brad Treliving, who last month joined the NHL Calgary Flames as general manager. Treliving had been an assistant GM with the Phoenix Coyotes while also serving as Portland’s GM.

Calgary is moving its AHL affiliate from Abbotsford, British Columbia, to Glens Falls, which just lost the Adirondack Phantoms to Allentown, Pennsylvania, where they will remain Philadelphia’s affiliate.
