FREEPORT — Junior right-hander Will Bryant set a school record with 20 strikeouts in a seven-inning game as Greely beat Freeport 11-4 in a Western Maine Conference baseball game Friday.

Bryant surpassed the seven-inning mark of 15 strikeouts set last season by teammate Connor Russell. He tied the overall school record set in 1969 by Bobby Doyle in a 13-inning game.

Bryant allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks.

Bailey Train and Pat O’Shea each hit a solo home run to pace the offense for Greely (8-1).

Freeport fell to 3-6.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Brandon Hubbard pitched a four-hitter while earning his third straight complete-game win as the Patriots (6-4) beat the Raiders (0-10) at Gray.

Gray-New Gloucester broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the bottom of the third. Justin McKenna drove in the go-ahead run with a double and scored from third on a double steal.

Brandon Ludwig pitched a five-hitter with 10 strikeouts for Fryeburg.

WELLS 12, YARMOUTH 1: Connor Pease had three hits, scored two runs and drove in one for the Warriors (5-4), who got nine runs in the first inning and cruised to a five-inning win over the Clippers (5-3) at Wells.

Charlie Bell smacked a three-run double and finished with four RBI. Bennie McMinis pitched a four-hitter and hit a two-run single.

KENNEBUNK 10, CAPE ELIZABETH 1: Nick Emmons had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in a pair of runs to lead the Rams (5-4) past the Capers (3-6) at Kennebunk in a game that was called after five innings because of rain.

Caleb Burpee, Eric Aiken and Ben Lary added two hits and two RBI apiece for the Rams, who scored five runs in the second to open an 8-0 lead.

YORK 7, LAKE REGION 1: Derek Neal drove in five runs and Malcolm Hughes allowed just two hits in six innings as the Wildcats (7-3) rolled past the Lakers (0-9) at York.

Neal hit a two-run homer in the third inning and a three-run double in the sixth.

Ben Chaine homered in the second inning for Lake Region.

WAYNFLETE 18, TRAIP ACADEMY 8: Isaac Scher smacked a go-ahead two-run homer during a seven-run fourth inning, propelling Waynflete (5-4) to a win over Traip Academy (5-4) at Portland.

Scher and Josh Lodish each finished with three RBI.

MARSHWOOD 6, WESTBROOK 0: Zach Quintal pitched a four-hitter and Jake Lebel drove in four runs as the Hawks (8-2) defeated the Blue Blazes (7-3) at South Berwick.

Lebel had an RBI double in the fifth inning as Marshwood scored twice to snap a scoreless deadlock, then added a three-run homer in the sixth.

CHEVERUS 9, WINDHAM 4: Charlie Mull and Jensen LaPointe had three hits each as the Stags (5-4) topped the Eagles (4-6) at Portland.

Mitchell Powers added a pair of singles and Chris Tinsman hit a solo home run.

Zach Conley, Andrew Whiting and Spencer Hodge each had a pair of hits for Windham.

GORHAM 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Corey Nadeau struck out four and walked two while tossing a five-hitter for the Rams (3-6) in a win over the Trojans (5-4) at Gorham.

Andrew Schmidt and Cody Elliott each hit an RBI single and Eric Komulainan added a sacrifice fly during a three-run third inning.

SANFORD 2, NOBLE 1: Xavier Chase hit an RBI single in the top of the eighth inning as the Spartans (4-5) edged the Knights (2-8) at North Berwick.

Joshua Schultz tied the game with an RBI single for Noble in the bottom of the sixth.

LACROSSE

CAPE ELIZABETH 16, BRUNSWICK 2: Griffin Thoreck scored four goals and Noah Haversat added three goals and two assists as the Capers (7-0) cruised past the Dragons (6-2) at Cape Elizabeth.

Ben Shea, Tom Feenstra and Riley Pillsbury each finished with a pair of goals for the Capers. Shea also had an assist.

Brunswick got goals from Cam Glover and Christian Glover.

WESTBROOK 17, MORSE 3: Curtis Knapton scored three goals and collected seven assists, and Lucas Snyder finished with five goals and three assists as the Blue Blazes (3-3) cruised to a win over the Shipbuilders (7-1) at Westbrook.

Sam Carroll added four goals and two assists. John Tibbetts and Steve Shackley scored two goals apiece.

GARDINER 7, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 4: Josh Caldwell and Jack Truman each scored three goals as the Tigers (5-2) defeated the Panthers (1-6) at Gardiner.

Colton Ackerman and Wesley Bright each scored a pair of goals for NYA.
