SCARBOROUGH — Maquila Dimastrantonio and Delia Sylvain scored three goals each Thursday to lead Massabesic to an 8-5 victory against Scarborough in a meeting of the top two girls’ lacrosse teams in the Western Class A Heal point standings.

Kaitlin Prince scored twice for Scarborough (5-4) against the Mustangs (8-1).

WESTBROOK 15, DEERING 7: Jackie Harris, Katie Berry and Micaela LeBeau each scored three goals as the Blue Blazes (6-3) beat the Rams (1-7) at Westbrook.

Emma Riley added two goals and two assists, and Sarah Wagner also scored twice.

Casey Girsch paced Deering with three goals.

GORHAM 19, MCAULEY 8: Meghan Cushing scored a pair of goals and had four draw controls for the Rams (6-3), who had 18 players score against the Lions (1-7) at Gorham.

Aliza Jordan finished with four caused turnovers for Gorham, which led 12-5 at halftime.

Kaeli Leddy scored six goals and Sophie Borie made 21 saves for the Lions.

THORNTON ACADEMY 11, BIDDEFORD 2: Hannah Wuerthner and Faith Sinclair combined for five goals as the Golden Trojans (5-3) rolled past the Tigers (5-3) at Saco.

Allie Spinney made six saves for Thornton, which had eight goal scorers. Katherine Dumoulin and Olivia Morrison scored for Biddeford.

MESSALONSKEE 15, MT. ARARAT 11: Sydney Gagne scored five goals to pace Messalonskee (6-2) over Mt. Ararat (4-5) at Oakland.

Sierra Gilley finished with seven goals for Mt. Ararat.

BONNY EAGLE 17, NOBLE 2: Cassidy Merrill scored three goals, and Hannah Litif added two goals and three assists to lead the Scots (2-5) past the Knights (0-8) at Standish.

Jess Warren and Krystal Chiasson also scored twice for Bonny Eagle.

Josie Hubbard and Kaylin Thompson scored for Noble.

YARMOUTH 17, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 8: Grace O’Donnell scored eight goals to pace the Clippers (7-1) past the visiting Panthers (3-6) at Yarmouth.

Shannon Fallon added five goals and an assist, and Emma Torres had four goals and an assist. Mary-Kate Gonneville had four saves.

Olivia Madore had four goals and an assist, and Alex Wahlstrom adde a pair of goals for NYA.

MORSE 15, CAMDEN HILLS 10: Sophie Sreden and Bronwyn Morrissette combined for seven goals and five assists as the Shipbuilders (7-1) defeated the Windjammers (4-3) at Bath.

Ruth Nadeau added three goals and an assist, and Cat Sener had 14 saves for Morse, which had 10 players score.

Addie Drinkwater scored four goals for Camden Hills.

MARSHWOOD 11, CHEVERUS 10: Lindsey Poirier had four goals and five assists as the Hawks (7-2) edged the Stags (5-2) in overtime at South Berwick.

Korrine Bohunsky added four goals and an assist, and Emily Kahler had five saves for Marshwood.

Meredith Willard scored five goals and Alexandra Logan added four for Cheverus.

KENNEBUNK 20, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2: Jenny Bush scored four goals for the Rams (8-1), who took a 15-1 halftime lead and cruised past the Raiders (1-8) at Fryeburg.

Olivia Sanford, Ali Truman and Kyra Schwartzman added three goals and two assists apiece, and Kristen Koch and Grace Robinson scored their first goals of the season for Gorham.

BASEBALL

LINCOLN ACADEMY 4, MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 0: Spencer Weiss pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts as the Eagles (9-3) eased past the Huskies (1-11) at Newcastle.

Devon Scherer had a single and double for Lincoln Academy. Charles Moriarty doubled for MCI.

SOUTH PORTLAND 6, MASSABESIC 0: Brad Sowerby pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and three walks, and Chris Foley went 3 for 3 with an RBI and a run as the Red Riots (9-2) downed the Mustangs (3-9) at South Portland.

Robert Graff and Nick Troiano added two hits apiece for the Red Riots, who broke the game open with a five-run fourth inning. Graff drove in one run and Troiano scored once.

Dawson Renaud had a pair of hits for Massabesic.

SCARBOROUGH 9, SANFORD 4: Ben Greenberg and Matt Hartl each had a pair of singles as the Red Storm (6-5) eased past the Spartans (4-7) at Scarborough.

Zach Carriero added a double. Xavier Chase and Chase Eldredge doubled for Sanford.

BIDDEFORD 5, GORHAM 0: Corey Creeger scattered seven hits, striking out two and walking one as the Tigers (10-2) shut out the Rams (4-7) at Biddeford.

Nate Huot had three hits for the Tigers, including a two-run single during a four-run third inning.

Kerry Crepeau added a pair of hits for Biddeford. Cameron Smith had two hits for Gorham.

WAYNFLETE 7, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 3: Isaac Scher had four hits and Will Manny drove in a pair of runs as the Flyers (7-5) downed the Panthers (0-9) at Portland.

Alonzo Antoine gave up three runs over six innings to earn the win and Nik Morrill closed the game with a scoreless seventh inning.

THORNTON ACADEMY 7, BONNY EAGLE 2: Drew Gelinas went 2 for 3 with three RBI and two runs to lead the Trojans (6-5) past the Scots (2-9) at Standish.

Ben Lambert of Thornton struck out six and walked four in a three-hitter, and also had a pair of hits.

Justin Miles tripled and scored for the Scots.

WINDHAM 1, DEERING 0: Josh Dugas scored on a one-out double by Tanner Laberge in the ninth inning to lift the Eagles (5-6) over the Rams (3-9) at Windham.

Spencer Hodge struck out 10 and gave up three hits over eight shutout innings, and Zach Conley pitched a scoreless ninth inning for the win.

Deering starter Brendan McNally struck out six over five innings.

MARSHWOOD 5, NOBLE 2: Jacob Lebel hit an RBI single and Zach Doyon followed with a two-run single during a three-run third inning as the Hawks (10-2) pulled away from the Knights (2-10) at South Bewrick.

Marshwood erased a 1-0 deficit with a two-run single by Holden Jackman in the second.

Luke Stankovich threw a four-hitter for the Hawks with four strikeouts and no walks.

Josh Schultz hit a pair of doubles for Noble.

SOFTBALL

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 7, KENNEBUNK 5: Makayla Cooper and Kylie Locke hit RBI singles as the Raiders (7-6) scored twice in the sixth inning to break a tie and defeated the Rams (5-7) at Fryeburg.

Cooper and Mackenzie Buzzell had two hits and scored two runs apiece for the Raiders, and Jeannette White added two hits and drove in two runs. Fryeburg also got three hits and one run from Alexis L’Heureux-Carland.

Kennebunk took a 5-4 lead with a four-run fifth that included a three-run homer by Meaghan Dube.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 11, MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 7: Chloe Hallowell led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a triple and scored the go-ahead run on Morgan Achorn’s single as the Eagles (10-1) defeated the Huskies (3-9) at Newcastle.

GORHAM 3, DEERING 2: Noelle Dibiase and Amber Cavaretta had RBI singles in a three-run sixth inning as Gorham (6-6) rallied past Deering (0-13) at Portland.

Deering took a 2-0 lead on Erin Winschel’s homer in the fifth.
