CAPE ELIZABETH — Connor Pease closed the game with three shutout innings, striking out five Friday as Wells earned a 2-1 victory against Cape Elizabeth in an eight-inning Western Maine Conference baseball game.

Wells (6-6) scored in the sixth to make it 1-1, then won it in the eighth on singles by Nick Ramsey and Shawn Ramsey.

Nick Moulton had a pair of hits for Cape Elizabeth (4-8), including a double.

MESSALONSKEE 8, BRUNSWICK 7: Messalonskee (8-2) scored five runs in the seventh inning to rally past Brunswick (6-6) at Oakland.

OCEANSIDE 15, GARDINER 5: Ryan Allender and Nick Mazurek homered in the fourth inning as Oceanside (11-2) beat Gardiner (2-10) in five innings at Thomaston.

KENNEBUNK 9, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Nick Evans drove in four runs as the Rams (8-5) beat Gray-New Gloucester (7-6) at Kennebunk.

Evans hit a sacrifice fly in the first inning, an RBI single in the third and a two-run homer in the fifth.

Ben Lary of Kennebunk allowed four hits with six strikeouts and no walks.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2, WAYNFLETE 1: Mason Beaudoin scored on a two-out single by Tyler Scott in the eighth inning to lift the Seagulls (5-7) over the Flyers (7-6) at Old Orchard Beach.

Kendal Tatsak of Old Orchard struck out nine, giving up three hits and a walk.

YARMOUTH 9, YORK 2: Luke Klenda hit a three-run homer in the first inning and the Clippers (7-5) went on to beat the Wildcats (8-5) at York.

Klenda also had a single, and C.J. Cawley, Caleb Pines and Andrew Kinsman each added a pair of hits for Yarmouth.

POLAND 20, FREEPORT 5: Lucas Johnson homered twice, drove in six runs and scored three to lead Poland (9-3) over the Falcons (4-8) at Freeport.

Kaleb Bridgham added four RBI for the Knights, who scored eight in the seventh inning.

Bill Bickford relieved for Poland in the third inning and finished with five strikeouts.

LACROSSE

THORNTON ACADEMY 13, BONNY EAGLE 4: Isaac Sinclair had four goals and an assist for the Trojans (7-3), who scored six second-quarter goals to pull away from the Scots (3-6) at Saco.

Cody Falton added three goals and Zach Bryant scored two for the Trojans, who outscored the Scots 6-1 in the second quarter to break a 2-2 tie.

KENNEBUNK 18, LAKE REGION 0: Jake Boothby and Tyler Elkington combined to score nine goals as the Rams (5-4) rolled past the Lakers (1-7) at Kennebunk.

Josh Hussey added three goals, and Pat Rimmer and Pat Murphy each had two. Ben Bath and George Doe made two saves each for Kennebunk.

GREELY 16, FREEPORT 2: Tim Adams scored eight goals as the Rangers (4-4) beat the Falcons (6-3) at Cumberland.

Mitchell Mullin added six goals, and Gwynn Zambello and Gabe Belisle also scored for Greely.

GORHAM 15, WINDHAM 8: Colin Harvey had six goals and two assists as the Rams (8-1) beat the Eagles (2-6) at Windham.

Michael Susi added four goals and an assist, and Cam Wright had five assists for Gorham.

Zach Callahan and Christian Zwirner scored three goals each for Windham.

DEERING 18, MASSABESIC 10: Isaac Santerre had six goals and three assists as the Rams (3-6) downed the Mustangs (1-8) at Portland.

Alec Halpin had four goals and three assists, and Sam Hornblower added two goals and three assists for Deering.
