He has over 28 years experience at the sheriff’s office, serving in nearly every capacity including chief deputy for several years before being elected sheriff in 2010.
Sheriff Joyce’s credentials go beyond his extensive and impressive practical experience.
He holds a master’s in business administration, an associate’s degree in criminal justice, FBI law enforcement executive development and FBI National Academy certification.
As important as experience and education is, Sheriff Joyce truly deserves your consideration when you take the time to look at his accomplishments.
Overseeing a $20 million budget, Sheriff Joyce has unitized grants to fund law enforcement positions and develop a contract deputy position.
Using inmate labor, he has saved Cumberland County communities, churches and non-profit organizations nearly a half million dollars each year.
In 2011, Sheriff Joyce initiated a medical copay program at the jail, saving approximately $8,000 per month in the medications budget.
