SACO — Ralph J. Morin, 96, of Bonita Springs, Fla. and formerly of Saco, passed away on June 2, 2014 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 16, 1918 in Biddeford, a son of Hilaire and Virginia (Loranger) Morin.

He was educated in the local schools.

He was employed at Deering Lumber in Biddeford for 48 years, retiring in 1981, as store manager.

Ralph built several homes in the area. He enjoyed making furniture and playing horseshoes. Most of all, he loved to be with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was president of the Freemont Club in 1969. Ralph was a member of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco.

He was preceded in death by: a brother, Arthur Morin.

Ralph is survived by: his wife of 73 years, Irene F. (Martel) Morin; four sons, Lee Morin of Lewiston, Nel Morin of North Carolina, Ron Morin and his wife Sylvia of Waterboro and Donald Morin and his wife Debra of Biddeford; and two daughters, Lucille Paquette and her husband Aurel of Saco and Irene Martell and her husband Terry of New Hampshire.

He also leaves behind: his brother, Robert Morin of Bonita Springs, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Church, Good Shepherd Parish, in Saco. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
