AUGUSTA — Commissioner of Labor Jeanne Paquette announced that three of Deering Lumber’s stores have earned the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program Award, bringing Maine’s total SHARP worksites to 69.

Deering’s Springvale location is receiving its first SHARP award. The Biddeford location has re-earned its original certification, and the Kennebunk location is renewing its existing SHARP certification as well.

The acceptance of three Deering Lumber worksites into SHARP by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration not only recognizes these businesses as models for worksite safety and health standards, but highlights Deering Lumber’s commitment to making their locations safe for its employees, Paquette said.
