
Regular division races included Thunder 4’s, Strictly Street, Mini Trucks and Late Model Sportsman.
The first NEMA race was the Midgets. Starting at the pole was Matt O’Brien, with Doug Cleveland and Ryan Bigelow qualifying second and third, respectively. O’Brien was left behind as Cleveland, Bigelow and Jim Chambers passed him. A caution on lap four gave Ian Cumens the chance he needed to join the race leaders. d.
Coming up from the back of the pack was Randy Cabral, who completed the fastest lap of the race in 13.47 seconds.
Cabral was looking for his chance to pass, and when a caution was called during lap 17, Cabral took advantage of the restart and followed Cumens as they both passed Cleveland. Avery Stoehr also passed Cleveland and took third. Cabral made his move on lap 19, passing Cumens for the lead.
Cabral placed first, Cumens was second and AStoehr took third.
The NEMA Lites were up next. Starting on the pole was Dennis O’Brien, and behind him was Megan Cugini and Jake Smith.
Andy Barrows moved quickly up the track. Weaving through traffic and snagging the lead on the second lap. Jake Smith passed O’Brien and took third. Cugini

slowed on the track and Smith passed her for second, and Scott Bigelow passed Cugini on lap three for third.
Coming up from behind was Danny Cugini, who passed Barrows for third. Danny Cugini kept coming, passing Ryan Krachun for second. On lap 20, PJ Stergios made his move, slipping past Krachun for third.
Race leaders remained constant until race conclusion, as Bigelow took first, Danny Cugini second and Stergios third.
Sixteen Thunder 4’s took to the track to compete in a 20-lap feature. Trey Brown started on the pole, followed by Mike Mathieu and Bill Grover.
When the green flag dropped, Grover passed Brown on the inside of turn three for second. Lap two saw Richmond’s Curtis Anderson pass Mathieu for third on the inside of the backstretch. Leandra Martin, also of Richmond, passed Anderson for third on the inside of turn one.
There was a caution during lap five as Mika Stover spun on the track and collected Grover, whose car was towed off the track. Off the restart, Wiscasset’s Ryan Chadwick moved to third, and Cody Robbins headed to the inside of turn two and passed both Chadwick and Martin to take second.
Chadwick passed Robbins on the inside of turn four during lap six, and soon made his move into first. Robbins passed Brown on the outside of the front stretch to claim second. Richmond’s Cody Tribbet, who started 11th, was third. During a caution on lap 16, Robbins’ car overheated and had to be towed off the track.
Chadwick maintained the lead, with Tribbett second and Brown taking third.
Strictly Streets
A 25-lap Strictly Streets feature was next. Lisbon’s Dave Brannon took the pole, with Dan Brown and Jairet Harrison of Freeport in second and third, respectively.
Rick Spaulding of Lisbon got the jump early, passing Harrison for third while Brannon and Brown battled for first.
A caution on lap five didn’t slow the battle between the race leaders, who continued to race side by side.
The race for third was also heated, as Corey Morgan and Spaulding traded positions. Morgan pulled ahead on lap 16 to clinch third, while Brown slipped past Brannon to win the race.
The Mini Truck 15-lap feature was a straight-forward race. Freeport’s Matt Curtis began on the pole, but Kris Knox claimed the win, with Curtis second and Jerry McKenna in third.
Finishing out the night was a 35-lap Late Model Sportsman feature. On the pole was Alex Waltz, and behind him were Chris Thorne and Steve Minott.
West Bath’s Steve Reno passed Waltz on the outside of turn one, claiming second. Coming up from his sixth-place start was Nick Hinkley of Wiscasset.
Meanwhile, Ryan St. Clair weaved through traffic and passed Reno on lap 18 for third.
The leaders remained unchanged the rest of the way, with Thorne taking first, Hinkley second and St. Clair third.
Wiscasset Speedway resumes racing action this upcoming Saturday with its Group One lineup of divisions — Napa Super Street, Prostock, Outlaw Mini and New England 4-Cylinder Prostocks. The flex event of the week is a Flagpole race, which will wrap up the night.
Also, Legacy car driver Cameron Folsom is bringing Debbie Pastrana Williams to Wiscasset Speedway. Williams is raising money for the charity cause “AGAPE,” which helps orphaned children in India. Williams will be selling raffle tickets for a Busch Series race that includes two pit passes, two pit seats, headphones to hear drivers and a VIP parking pass. Also being raffled are two whitewater rafting tickets and an autographed helmet by Travis Pastrana.
Pit gates open at 2 p.m. Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m., with racing set to begin at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, with children ages 6 and under admitted free. A pit admission is $20.
