Sanford Elks Lodge No. 1470 and the Strawberry Patch RC Pilots will host a Father’s Day fish-off at Number One Pond in Sanford. All participants should meet at the pond to register on Father’s Day, June 15, starting at 8 a.m.

Cost to register is $4 per team of two, which includes one adult and one child. A second team of two from the same family would be $3 and each additional family team is $2.

Organizers say the event is open to fathers and children of all ages, as well as to children accompanied by grandfathers and other adult male role models such as uncles.

Adults need a fishing license, but children do not.

Fish must be caught between 8 a.m. and noon on June 15, and the Strawberry Patch RC pilots will wow the crowd with radio-controlled helicopters, planes, boat demonstrations and more during the fish-off.
