SOUTH PORTLAND — Voters approved the $44.8 million proposed school budget for fiscal year 2015 on Tuesday.
According to unofficial results from the city clerk, the vote was 1,127 to 530.
The 1,657 voters represented 8 percent of 19,167 registered voters in the city.
The municipal budget for fiscal year 2015 has not been approved yet by the City Council, but previous figures suggest the city will likely face a property tax increase of 3.3 percent at the most next year.
