I found the June 14 article about the open carry folks in Texas to be most distressing (“Open carry activists armed and visible”).
The belief that one has to openly carry some sort of gun as they advocate seems to me to project the image of significant paranoia, a fear that some will be so obnoxious that the gun toter needs to threaten him with a weapon or even shoot him.
I fear for us as a nation if such paranoia spreads to other parts of our country, and more and more Americans believe that the best way to live is to carry a gun openly at all times. What a sorry nation we will have become.
