SACO — Emelia Guy, 86, of Pheasant Road, passed away June 13, 2014 at the Kennebunk Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Manitoba, Canada March 31, 1928, the daughter of John and Bessy Miska Lylyk.

At the age of 16, she came to the United States and worked in the Detroit area as a waitress. She worked at the 1200 House as the head waitress until 1976, when she came to Maine.

She worked at the Kerryman Pub for more than 27 years and attended St. Margaret’s Church, Good Shepherd Parish.

She loved taking cruises, playing slots, scratch tickets and bantering with people when she worked at the Kerryman Pub.

She was preceded in death by: a brother, Harry Lylyk; and a sister, Janet Harris.

She is survived by: two stepsons, Michael Guy and his wife Kim of Falls Village, Conn. and Richard Guy and his wife Theresa of Knoxville, Tenn.; two daughters, Carol Guy Waycott and her husband Jeff of Boca Raton, Fla. and Donna Hooper of Palm Beach Garden, Fla.; two sisters, Ann Rolgulski and Justine Hrabuchuck, both of Canada; and grandchildren, Timothy, Jeffery, Chelsea, Shannon, Danielle and Dakota.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28 at 11 a.m. at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 365 Main St., Saco. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, 50 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough, ME 04074.
