AUGUSTA — Three Maine Department of Corrections Corporal K9 handlers and their K9 team members graduated on June 13, from the 14-week Patrol Canine (K-9) Team Certification/Recertification course at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro.

Patrol Canine Team Certification/Recertification is intensive training, as a team, in obedience, agility, tracking, officer protection, building search, article search, criminal apprehension and other related areas.

The MDOC graduates and their K9 team members are: Robert Bowen and Kane, serving at the Maine State Prison; Richard Greene and TJ, serving at the Maine State Prison, and Troy Hood and Gunner, serving at the Mountain View Youth Development Center.
