BANGOR, Maine – The three candidates squaring off for Maine governor are celebrating the Independence Day with parades and other festivities.
Republican Gov. Paul LePage will march in the Bangor Fourth of July parade on Friday, which begins at 11 a.m. He’s also participating in the Newport parade on Saturday.
Independent candidate Eliot Cutler and Democrat Mike Michaud are also expected to attend Friday’s parade in Bangor.
Cutler will then be traveling northeast to visit Eastport later on Friday.
U.S. Rep. Michaud is continuing his day Friday at the Winslow Fourth of July celebration, followed by festivities in Portland.
