I was less than amused seeing the cartoon by Clay Bennett of the Chattanooga Times Free Press, which was on Page E3 of the June 29 Maine Sunday Telegram.

It showed two “I Voted” stickers, one with the American flag and the other with the Confederate battle flag with “Tea Party” under it.

Mr. Bennett should perhaps study a little more about the politics concerning this so-called party. Who is associated with the Confederate flag? Well, the Klan used it all the time. Is Mr. Bennett trying to associate the tea party with the Klan?

Does he know what “tea party” means? This grass-roots group emerged because of abuses to our Constitution and the direction of the government from too big to overwhelming and controlling. The letters “TEA” stand for “Taxed Enough Already.”

The vast majority of people in this movement are conservative voters and would be flying the Gadsden flag (depicting a coiled rattlesnake and the words “Don’t tread on me”) and Old Glory. I say “foul” to Mr. Bennett.
