Portland-based trade publisher and event organizer Diversified Communications has acquired a similar company in the United Kingdom that focuses on the travel industry.

The British firm, Expo Management, publishes trade magazines and organizes three events: the biennial Euro Bus Expo, Coach and Bus Live, and Best of Britain & Ireland.

The 20-year-old, privately owned Expo Management has 35 employees, which brings Diversified’s total staff to 840, company spokeswoman Vicki Hennin said.

Hennin would not disclose the purchase price or annual revenue of Expo Management.

Diversified Communications produces trade publications covering the seafood, fishing, commercial boating, natural and organic foods, audio and music production, travel and broadcast industries.

It has completed 21 acquisitions since 2007 and launched more than 60 events, according to its website. Events hosted by the company include industry trade shows and expositions around the globe.

In May, it switched to a digital-only model of SeaFood Business Magazine.
