An Old Orchard Beach man has been indicted on charges of manslaughter and drunken driving in connection with a car crash that killed his friend.
Brian Roche, 32, was indicted this week by a York County grand jury in connection with the Oct. 26 crash in Arundel.
Roche was driving a white 2002 BMW west on Log Cabin Road near the Seashore Trolley Museum just before midnight when he came to a curve in the road, lost control on the wet surface and hit a utility pole, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
Wires were dangling around the vehicle when deputies arrived, police said at the time.
The lone passenger, Bobby Hem, 26, of Sanford, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car. He died from head injuries, the report said.
Roche was taken by ambulance to Biddeford Medical Center. His blood alcohol level was not included in the indictment, other than to say it was greater than 0.08 percent, the legal limit for driving in Maine.
