Cape Elizabeth’s 9/10 year-old softball all-star team beat defending champion Scarborough, 3-2, to win the District 6 championship last week and advance to the state tournament in Waldoboro beginning Saturday. Standout Cape pitcher Anna Cornell pitched 39 innings in the district tournament, striking out 91 batters.
