A man sought in connection with an alleged methamphetamine lab raided in the Aroostook County town of Merrill last week has been arrested, along with his girlfriend.

Micah Lawlor, 38, was taken into custody Tuesday at a remote camp in Merrill, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Police say he had been hiding at the camp since they found a suspected meth lab inside his house a few miles away on July 9.

Lawlor is charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine.

He and Jessica Tremblay, 26, of Merrill, also are charged with burglary, theft and criminal trespass.

The two were arrested Tuesday after Maine State Police receive a tip that camps in the area had been broken into. Troopers, game wardens and Aroostook County sheriff’s deputies went to the camp on Clark Road and found the couple inside. They surrendered without incident.

Both were taken to the Aroostook County Jail.

Maine Drug Enforcement Agency officers found 24 devices used to cook meth inside Lawlor’s house, they said.

Meth is highly addictive and the fumes that result from making the drug can be very flammable and explosive.
