Deputy U.S. marshals, Maine State Police troopers and Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies converged on Standish Friday, searching for a man wanted in connection with a robbery and domestic violence assault.

Jessy Kehling, 27, who has lived in the Biddeford and Limington areas, is being sought on warrants, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

The Maine Violent Offender Task Force has also been searching for Kehling.

According to WCSH-TV, police stopped a car Kehling was driving in a traffic stop Friday morning and he drove off with three children in the car with him. Police found the car near some woods – with the unharmed children inside – and said Kehling ran off into the woods. The TV station said that police said he later asked two women for a ride to the store, but they recognized him as being sought by the police and ran to their apartment to call 911.

Police told the station that the women said the man was wearing only black shorts, was barefoot and his feet were cut and covered with blisters.
