OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Francis A. “Frank” Eunson, 96, of Old Orchard Beach, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at his residence, after a brief illness.

He was born in Cambridge, Massachu-setts on Jan. 26, 1918, the son of Albert S. and Rhoda E. Coolbrith Eunson.

As a young child, he moved to Saco and was raised by his grandparents, Benjamin and Frances Coolbrith. He was educated in Saco schools.

Mr. Eunson was self-employed as F.A. Eunson General Contractor and a real estate broker. During World War II, he worked at the South Portland Shipyard as a steel fitter building ship for four years.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his stepfather, James Monahan; his brother, Thomas W. Eunson and his wife Norma; his former wife, Edith Curran Eunson; his friend, Dorothy Kimball; his two sons-in-law, James Soorus and Grady Vaughn.

He is survived by: his son, Albert F. Eunson and his wife Jo-Ann of Alfred; his daughters, Alegra E. Soorus of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and Dorothea L. Vaughn of Knoxville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three nephews; and one niece.

Mr. Eunson’s family wishes to thank his care person, Barbara Plourde, for her love and devotion to him, and a good friend and neighbor, Mike Sylvester.

The family also wishes to thank the Hospice of Southern Maine staff workers for the care given to our Dad during the past few months. We especially thank Cindy Majors, his hospice nurse, for her professional, compassionate care, and show of love by treating him like a friend. God bless you, Cindy, with our appreciation.
