BIDDEFORD — Anna Gollaros, 81, of Biddeford, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at St. Andre’s Health Care Facility in Biddeford.

She was born in Biddeford on Aug. 1, 1932, the daughter of the Rev. Demetrios and Mary Angoro-giannis Gollaros.

She was educated in Biddeford schools, graduating from Biddeford High School with the Class of 1950. She also attended Golden School of Beauty in Portland.

Ms. Gollaros was a skilled beautician for more than 25 years. She was passionate about the industry from a young age.

Anna’s other passion was her faith. A devout Greek Orthodox parishioner, she took great pride in teaching a Greek school and Sunday school. Children were her true happiness. The highlight was caring and teaching her nieces and nephews the traditions and core values of the rich Greek Orthodox faith.

Family was paramount. Anna devoted her life to family, she cared for her aging parents until their passing. Anna was the archivist for the family.

Her wisdom, caring embrace and genuine spirit will be forever missed.

Surviving is: one sister, Angelike Pallas of Biddeford; three nieces, Thymia Kazilionis and her husband Dr. John Kazilionis of Portland, Maria Dalton and husband Dennis of Biddeford and Marge Jariz of Saco; great-nieces, Alexis Simonetti, Faye Roy, Anna Provencher and Olivia Provencher; and great-nephews, Christopher Jordan, Isaiah Provencher and Domenic Roy.

Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23 , 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 24, 2014 at St. Demetrios Church, 186 Bradley St., Saco, ME 04072. Burial will be in St. Demetrios Cemetery in Biddeford.
