YARMOUTH — The Rev. G. Richard Mountfort Jr., 92, of Cousins Island, Yarmouth, died July 14, with his wife of 27 years, Esther, by his side.

Mountfort was born Jan. 20, 1922, the son of George R. and Helen (Hinckley) Mountfort.

He is survived by his wife, Esther Robie (Blake) Mountfort; three sons, Richard and wife, Donna, of Bigleville, Pennsylvania, Carl, of Waterville, and Tim and wife, Pat, of Salisbury, New Hampshire; and four daughters, Diana Caldwell, of Franklin, New Hampshire, Becky McAtee, of Winthrop, Martha Shaw, of Wildwood, Florida, and Mary Chase, of Orford, New Hampshire.

Survivors also include a sister, Myra Sinclair, of Vassalboro; four stepsons, Paul, Steve and Mark Davis and their wives, all of Wentworth, New Hampshire, and Ronald Blake and his wife, of Meredith, New Hampshire; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Mountfort’s life was held July 19 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Scarborough. Family burial will be held in Wentworth, New Hampshire, where his former wife, Violet, is buried. Arrangements are being handled by Hobbs Funeral Home of South Portland.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be submitted in Mountfort’s name to Mark and Lynn Gordon, for the Balat Center, More to Life Family Campground, 48 Lady Slipper Lane, Winthrop, ME 04364.
