The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency has made three arrests this week related to heroin sales in Bangor and Ellsworth.

Alfred Ruiz Garcia, 50, of Portland was arrested on Monday in Ellsworth and charged with aggravated trafficking of heroin as part of an ongoing drug investigation in the area.

Drug agents arrested Garcia after he drove from Portland to allegedly distribute a significant amount of heroin in Hancock County. Garcia was found to be in possession of approximately 7 grams of heroin with a street value of $4,000, the MDEA said in a statement.

Garcia was recently released from federal prison after serving a sentence for drug distribution and was still under federal supervision, according to the MDEA.

Bail was initially set at $25,000 cash, and he was being held at the Hancock County Jail. The Ellsworth Police Department and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department assisted MDEA in the investigation.

In an unrelated case, drug agents this week arrested a New York man for allegedly selling heroin in Bangor, one month after he had been charged with selling heroin and was freed on bail. An Ellsworth woman also was charged, the MDEA said.

Isaiah Lammar “Izzy” Orane, 18, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested by Bangor police on June 26 on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated criminal mischief and drug trafficking.

Orane was arrested in Bangor again on Monday after being found in possession of heroin and crack cocaine, the MDEA said.

After several weeks of investigation, agents from MDEA’s Downeast Task Force in Ellsworth and MDEA’s North Central Task Force in Bangor arrested the two for selling heroin in Bangor and Ellsworth.

As police investigated Orane, 22-year-old Noelle Hansen of Ellsworth also was also arrested.

She is accused of selling heroin to an undercover MDEA agent and has been charged with felony drug trafficking. At the time of her arrest, she was found to be in possession of a gram of heroin, the MDEA said.

Orane and Hansen were being held at the Hancock Count Jail pending their court appearances.
