OLD ORCHARD BEACH — St. Augustine of Canterbury Anglican Church recently announced its move to the Saco Grange Hall at 168 North St., Saco, with the first Mass to be said on Sunday, Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. The Rev. Fr. Kevin LaMarre will be the celebrant. All are cordially invited to attend the Mass, and the coffee and fellowship hour that follows.

St. Augustine’s has been located at 156 Saco Ave. in Old Orchard Beach, in the Cathedral Pines Chapel, for nearly five years, serving Old Orchard Beach, Saco and the surrounding area.

The Rev. Deacon Allen Ryan says that the church’s focus, as it prepares to make this move, is three-fold.

“We definitely want to honor our past, become increasingly active in the present and be excited about the future. We are very excited about this move,” he added. “It will allow us to expand our ministry, add new programs and activities, and serve our parish family and our community better.”

St. Augustine’s has developed several community programs since its establishment. These include a close relationship with the Saco Food Pantry, a strong outreach program that provides bikes to foster children at Christmas, and backpacks filled with school supplies to the area’s homeless and disadvantaged children.

St. Augustine’s is a member church of the Anglican Church in America and its Diocese of the Northeast, and is part of the worldwide Traditional Anglican Communion with members in 44 countries.
