Having lived in Portland, then in Stroudwater and now in Cape Elizabeth, I have some experience driving throughout this area.
It would be a most educational activity for those suggesting a change to two-way traffic to travel daily through the coming winter months on these streets.
The city currently has difficulty maintaining a total of 1½ lanes safely on bad snow days. The following days aren’t pretty, either!
Perhaps the total elimination of on-street parking would help (a likely event). Think it over!
