WINN — Maine State Police say a passenger in a vehicle involved in an accident in Winn last week has died.
Police tell WABI-TV that 67-year-old David Smart of Mattawamkeag died early Sunday.
He was in a car driven by his wife, Lois Smart, involved in the crash Aug. 4 on Route 2. She remains hospitalized.
Police say a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old Passadumkeag man crossed the centerline just before the head-on collision. He too required hospitalization but has since been released.
The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
