A Waterville woman who police say had more than $40,000 in illegal drugs in her apartment in June 2013 was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison with all but four years suspended.
Police raided the apartment on June 18, 2013.
Eight other charges against Linda Batissa were dismissed in exchange for the plea.
At the time of the raid, Police Chief Joseph Massey said 6 ounces of crack cocaine, 46 bags of heroin, 3 grams of powdered cocaine, 493 oxycodone pills and a small amount of cocaine were recovered in the raid on the Ticonic Street apartment.
Mark Hilliard, a New York man arrested outside Batissa’s apartment in the raid, is serving six years in state prison after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors last month.
Police said that during the raid, police stopped a van they said was being driven up and down the street outside the apartment. Police said Hilliard later admitted bringing heroin to Waterville from New York. He pleaded guilty to drug trafficking last month and was sentenced to 20 years in state prison with all but six years of the sentence suspended. While his case was pending, two additional charges were added in January. Prosecutors said he was involved in cocaine trafficking while he was being held.
“Generally, we don’t recover so many different drugs in one drug bust,” Massey said at the time. “We like to welcome them with open handcuffs.”
When Batissa is released from prison, she will be on probation for four years. She was fined $400 and ordered to pay $1,600 restitution.
