“Fair” and “humane” are misused words! One example is the Humane Society of the United States.
The HSUS is spending $3 million to pass the bear referendum using the words “fair chase.” If it passes, it will inflict pain and suffering on other animals, plus hardship on northern Maine. If guides lose their bear clients, they will go out of business – and jobs are hard to come by in northern Maine!
When do-gooders are confronted with the facts that bear brutally kill fawns and moose calves, their response is, “It’s nature.” Our state biologists know what is best to control the pain and suffering in the dense forest of Maine. Let’s give our state biologists a vote of confidence and vote “no” on the bear referendum.
