Bath police are looking for a man who assaulted a 30-year-old woman Wednesday morning in her home.

Police said the woman, who lives at 60 High St., woke at 5:45 a.m. to find a man standing over her. The man then punched her in the face. Friends of the victim took her to Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick, where she was treated and released.

Police said nothing was taken from the home and the motive for the crime is unclear.

The assailant was described as about 17 to 23 years of age, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 inches tall, 180 pounds with olive skin, dark black eyebrows and dark eyes with a thin athletic build. He was wearing a black hoodie.
