GORHAM — Darcie Brown scored her second goal of the game to give Gorham the lead in a 2-1 victory over Thornton Academy in a Western A field hockey game Monday.

Brown scored the game-winner three minutes after Thornton Academy (1-1) had tied the game on a goal by Ashley Houp.

Brown also scored in the first half to give Gorham (2-0) a 1-0 lead. Charlotte Smith had an assist on the game-winner.

YARMOUTH 7, WAYNFLETE 0: Emily Martin scored a pair of goals and Kallie Hutchinson scored one goal and assisted on two others as the Clippers (2-0) cruised past the Flyers (0-2) in Yarmouth.

Fiona Clarke, Abby McDowell, Taylor Robison and Breanna Morrill added one goal apiece for Yarmouth. Molly Wilson had two assists.

DEERING 4, WESTBROOK 0: Kristin Francoeur, McKenzie Cote and Rylie Turner each scored as the Rams (1-1) opened a 3-0 halftime lead over Westbrook (0-2) in Portland.

Pisey Chhorn added a second-half goal for Deering, and Sadie Rhinehardt made four saves.

Zoe Shields had seven saves for the Blue Blazes.

BONNY EAGLE 11, MCAULEY 0: Five different players scored two goals as the Scots (1-1) beat the Lions (0-2) in Standish.

Alexis Lambert, Lexi Galdo, Catherine Biegel, Maddie Corbett and Cheyanne Glantz each scored twice for Bonny Eagle. Natalie Bushey added a goal for Bonny Eagle.

SANFORD 6, NOBLE 0: Liz Helmreich scored four goals to lead the Spartans (2-0) past the Knights (0-2) in North Berwick.

Katie Johnson and Morgan Champagne each added a goal for Sanford.

Noble keeper Marcie LaRiccia finished with 18 saves.

POLAND 2, CAPE ELIZABETH 1: Emily Gibson scored the go-ahead goal with just under two minutes left in the first half and the Knights (3-0) held off the Capers (2-1) in Cape Elizabeth.

Poland took the lead on Carly King’s goal seven minutes into the game.

Hannah Bosworth scored the equalizer for the Capers three minutes later with an assist from Aubrey O’Meara.

SCARBOROUGH 3, MASSABESIC 0: Kristen Murray broke a scoreless tie four minutes into the second half, and Maddy Dobecki added another goal three minutes later as the Red Storm (2-0) beat the Hawks (0-2) in Waterboro.

Abby Walker added a goal with 9 minutes left in the game.

Alyssa Souza needed to make just three saves for the shutout. Massabesic goalie Kelley Wescott had 13 saves.

MARSHWOOD 5, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Lindsey Poirier scored a pair of goals and the Hawks (1-1) beat the Red Riots (0-2) in South Berwick.

Hannah Costin added a first-half goal, while Cassie MacPherson and Abby Doyle scored in the second half for Marshwood.

PORTLAND 7, WINDHAM 2: Lauren McIntyre, Georgia Drew and Taylor Sargent both scored a goal in each half for the Bulldogs (2-0) in a victory over Windham (1-1) at Portland.

Gabby Wagabaza also scored as Portland opened a 4-1 halftime lead.

Olivia Glivey and Erin Malloy scored for the Eagles.

Portland goalie Gianna Gaudet made nine saves while Windham’s Grace Sawyer had 14.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

MT. ARARAT 2, LEWISTON 0: Libby Ouellette and Ryley Leech each scored a goal to lift the Eagles (2-0) to a win over the Blue Devils (0-2) in Topsham.

Lauren Williams and Kate Guerin combined on the shutout for Mt. Ararat, which outshot Lewiston 18-5.

MARSHWOOD 6, PORTLAND 1: Sydney Jackman scored a pair of goals and Natalie DuBois added a goal and two assists to lead the Hawks (2-0) to a win over the Bulldogs (1-1) in South Berwick.

Marshwood also got one goal apiece from Lydia St. Pierre, Molly Ferguson and Megan McLean.

Emily Robida made seven saves for the Hawks while allowing a goal by Madison Bolduc.

BOYS’ SOCCER

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 4, PINE TREE ACADEMY 4: Chris Wilday scored the equalizer late in the second half as the Breakers (1-0-1) rallied to tie the Lions (1-0-1) in Freeport.

Kenny Sweetser finished with a pair of goals for the Breakers. Pine Tree goalie Ryan Pierce made 12 saves.

Ethan Spaulding had a goal and an assist for the Lions, while Teddy Lane, Matt Hammond and Jeremiah Hammond each had a goal.

RICHMOND 2, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 1: Matt Rines scored late in the first half and Curtis Anderson added the eventual game-winner midway through the second half as the Bobcats (1-0) held on to beat the Panthers (1-1) at Yarmouth.

DJ Nicholas scored in the 76th minute to bring NYA within 2-1.
