YORK — Maddie Amidon scored two goals in the first half Tuesday as York beat Cape Elizabeth 3-1 in a girls’ soccer game.

Amidon scored 25 seconds into the game and again 20 minutes later for the Wildcats (2-0).

The Capers (1-1) cut the lead to one when Catherine Briggs scored with eight minutes left in the game. Two minutes later Elaine Cavalieri scored an insurance goal out of a scrum after a corner kick.

York keeper Emma Rohrer made eight saves for the win. Cape goalie Tessa Goldstein stopped 12.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0, OOB 0: Old Orchard Beach held a 9-4 shot advantage and missed a first-half penalty kick to keep the game scoreless. Makayla Cooper of Fryeburg made nine saves and Tiffany Leclair of OOB had five.

LAKE REGION 2, WELLS 0: Megan Boos scored on a cross from Kaylyn Jordan in the first period to give the Lakers (1-1) the lead for good as they edged the Warriors (0-2) at Naples.

CeCe Hancock added a goal in the second half.

Natalie Thurber blocked eight shots for Wells, and Isabelle Scribner had four saves in the shutout.

GREELY 2, YARMOUTH 0: Jocelyn Mitiguy scored on a feed from Izzie Hutnak to lead the Rangers (2-0) over the Clippers (0-1) at Yarmouth.

Jamie Keisman scored with five minutes remaining with an assist from Ellie Schad.

Maddie Cyr made 10 saves for Greely, and Shannon Fallon had five for Yarmouth.

SCARBOROUGH 2, PORTLAND 1: Ashley Gleason scored an unassisted goal seven minutes into the second half to break a tie and lead the Red Storm (2-0) past the Bulldogs (1-2) at Scarborough.

Isabel Stehli scored in the 19th minute to give Portland the early lead. Ashley Perriello scored two minutes later on a setup from Gleason to even the score until Gleason’s eventual winner. Molly Lecomte had six saves for Scarborough. Taylor Crosby had 12 saves for Portland.

TRAIP ACADEMY 2, WAYNFLETE 2: The Rangers (1-0-1) and the Flyers (0-0-1) tied at Portland.

Ellie Batchelder scored on a penalty kick and Emma Auclair scored on a feed from Lynn Moore for Traip Academy.

Marijke Rowse had a goal and an assist, and Christian Rowe had the other goal for Waynflete.

Moore had 16 saves for the Rangers.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 5, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Emma Woods had three goals and an assist to lead Gray-New Gloucester (1-1) over North Yarmouth Academy (0-2) at Gray.

Ashley Moreau added two goals and an assist for the Patriots. Woods scored two goals in the final six minutes of the first half.

The Patriots scored three times in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. Moreau finished the scoring at 30:47. After receiving a pass from Woods, she beat two defenders and sent the ball into the upper corner.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 1, OCEANSIDE 0: Leslie Sanderfur scored the only goal on an assist from Lydia Harris as the Eagles (2-0) squeezed by the Mariners (1-1) at Newcastle.

Lincoln Academy’s Miranda Acorn recorded seven saves. Kalyn Grover had eight saves for Oceanside.

SACOPEE VALLEY 2, FREEPORT 1: Jordan Miner and Abby Hughes scored for Sacopee Valley (2-0) in a win over Freeport at South Hiram.

The Hawks took the lead with 16:45 left in the first half when Olivia Ruhlin set up Miner. Hughes scored unassisted midway through the second half.

Julie Smith scored for the Falcons with 11:52 left.

FIELD HOCKEY

NORTH YARMOUTH ACAD. 5, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Kiersten Marr had a pair of goals to pace the offense as the Panthers (3-0) handled the Seagulls (0-3) at Yarmouth.

MacKenzie Sangster, Charlotte Eisenberg and Marina Poole added goals for North Yarmouth Academy.

Jenny Cobb made six saves for Old Orchard Beach.

MT. VIEW 2, GARDINER 2: The Mustangs (1-0-1) and the Tigers (1-0-1) played to a draw at Thorndike.

Abby Dyer scored the lone goal of the first half. Megan Mikel of Mt. View and Lilly Chepke of Gardiner traded goals early in the second half before Reanna Boulay squared the contest on a feed from Kersey Boulay with 2:14 remaining in regulation.

MT. BLUE 5, MT. ARARAT 1: Abby Wallace scored three goals to lead the Cougars to a win over Mt. Ararat in Farmington.

Victoria Newbill added two goals and an assist for Mt. Blue. Leat St. Laurent had two assists.

Alyssa Curit scored for the Eagles.

LAKE REGION 2, KENNEBUNK 1: Elizabeth Cole scored both goals as Lake Region beat the Rams (1-2) at Kennebunk.

Kennebunk’s goal came from Britney Gregoire.

Lakes Region keeper Meghan VanLoon had 13 saves. Liv Kudas stopped six for the Rams.

VOLLEYBALL

KENNEBUNK 3, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Service was the key when the game was in question as the Rams (1-1) swept the Panthers (0-1) 25-11, 25-18, 26-24 at Kennebunk.

Meg Dube closed out game one with seven straight service points.
