GORHAM — Cody Elliott’s penalty kick early in the second half snapped a tie and sent Gorham to a 2-1 victory over South Portland in a Western Class A boys’ soccer game Thursday night.

Gerek Brown scored from Ethan Orach in the first half to start the scoring for Gorham, which improved to 3-0.

Kervens Antoine’s unassisted tally later in the half evened it for South Portland (1-2).

Trenton Bassingthwaite made eight saves for the Rams; Henry Curran had six stops for South Portland.

KENNEBUNK 3, YORK 1: Ryan Whalen scored his second goal of the game early in the second half to put the Rams ahead, and host Kennebunk (2-1) held off the Wildcats (1-2).

Pat Gassman capped the Kennebunk scoring.

Jan Rutrle set up both of Whalen’s goals and Tyler Dickinson made six saves for the Rams.

Zack Gauthier scored York’s first-half goal. Connor Smith stopped six shots.

CHEVERUS 1, MARSHWOOD 0: A second-half goal from Andrei Vile was all the Stags (1-1) needed in a shutout of the Hawks (1-2) at South Berwick.

Sam Leathe made eight saves for Marshwood.

SCARBOROUGH 6, BIDDEFORD 0: Garrett King and Matt Caron scored two goals apiece as the Red Storm (3-0) defeated Biddeford (0-3) at Scarborough.

Spencer Pettingill and Jacob Kacer also scored, and Cam Nigro needed just four saves for the shutout.

Biddeford goalie Brandon Dion stopped 11 shots.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 6, LAKE REGION 1: Senior striker Tyler St. Pierre scored three goals in the opening 15 minutes and the Patriots (1-1) rolled past Lake Region (0-3) at Gray.

Andrew Gallant, Liam Stewart and Dylan Andrews contributed a goal apiece for Gray-New Gloucester.

John Henry Villanueva and Brady Darnell combined for three saves for the Patriots.

Ethan Green scored the Lakers’ goal. Michael Rust had seven saves.

POLAND 2, WELLS 0: Owen Priola and Cody Kostro converted off corner kicks as the Knights (1-1) blanked the Warriors (1-2) at Wells.

Poland goalie Zach Lowe and Wells keeper Chandler Bridge each made three saves.

WAYNFLETE 9, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Clancy Mitchell scored three goals and had an assist to lead Waynflete (2-0) in a rout of Fryeburg Academy (0-2) at Fore River Field in Portland.

Christian Brooks, Harry Baker-Connick, Ahmed Mohamed, Christian Kabongo, Willy Burdick and Cullen Bollinger each added a goal for the Flyers.

Milo Belleau needed just three saves for the shutout.

FREEPORT 7, WELLS 1: Julia Smith had two goals and an assist, Sam Jordan added a pair of goals and the Falcons (1-2) cruised at Wells (0-3).

Allie Duplisea scored for the Warriors.

TRAIP ACADEMY 3, POLAND 0: Ellie Batchelder scored twice to lead Traip Academy (2-0-1) past Poland (0-1) at Kittery.

Sadie Humiston scored the Rangers’ third goal.

Lynne Moore had seven saves in the shutout. Poland keeper Haley Wentworth made eight stops.

SKOWHEGAN 13, BRUNSWICK 0: The Indians responded to their first loss since 2009 in dominant fashion, routing the Dragons at Brunswick.

Brooke Michonski led the way with six goals, while Renee Wright chipped in with three. Julia Steeves, Lauren LeBlanc, Cassidy Clement and Abby Stevens also scored for Skowhegan (3-1).

Julia Weston had 26 saves for Brunswick (0-4).

WAYNFLETE 1, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Dana Peirce scored 3:25 into overtime to push the Flyers (1-1) past the Hawks (2-2) at Portland.

Kiera MacWhinnie fended off a strong attack by Sacopee Valley, recording 16 saves.

Chloe Roncoe stopped seven shots for the Hawks.

FALMOUTH 2, KENNEBUNK 0: Ellie Fitzgerald scored both goals, one from Dayna Vasconcelos and the other from Morgan Allen, as the Yachtsmen (3-1) defeated the Rams (1-3) at Falmouth.

Caroline Dyhrberg stopped both shots she faced to record the shutout. Colleen Keegan made three saves for Kennebunk.

FREEPORT 2, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Dani Foster and Bailey Coffin scored first-half goals and Freeport (1-2) blanked Gray-New Gloucester (0-4) at Gray.

Adrianna Kimball made 11 saves for the Patriots. Falcons’ keeper Morgan Karnes turned back seven shots.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 4, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Janelle Wiesemann tallied two goals and an assist to propel the Raiders (2-1) past the Capers (2-1) at Fryeburg.

Kenzie Hill and Nicki Thurston also scored.

MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 4, LINCOLN ACADEMY 0: Kali Doiron scored twice to lead Maine Central Institute (2-1) past the Eagles (1-2) at Newcastle.

LAWRENCE 3, OXFORD HILLS 1: The Bulldogs (4-0) used three second-half goals to rally past the Vikings (3-1) at South Paris.

KENNEBUNK 3, LAKE REGION 0: With strong serving from senior Meg Dube, Madi Harakles and Sam Witkus, the Rams (2-1) beat the Lakers (0-2) in straight sets, 25-8, 25-13, 25-12, at Naples.

Harakles and Witkus won 10 straight service points to start the second set.

GORHAM 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Diana Kolb led the way with three aces and five kills as the Rams (1-2) swept the Red Riots (0-3) at South Portland, 25-16, 25-20, 25-16.

Chatham Mills added five kills for Gorham.

Paige Carter had four kills, four digs and an ace for South Portland. Hailee Owen added four aces.

YARMOUTH 3, NORTH YARMOUTH 0: Junior Kenzie Sheehan won 13 service points, including nine aces, to lead host Yarmouth (1-1) past North Yarmouth Academy (1-2).

The Clippers won 25-17, 25-16 and 25-15. Heather Clark added nine kills and four blocks for Yarmouth, and Emily Parker had four kills.

The Panthers got three kills from Suzanna Butterfield. Anya Siviski had three aces.
