FREEPORT — Outdoor retailer L.L. Bean, best known for its Maine-made Bean Boot and 100 percent satisfaction guarantee, has created a one-of-a-kind, limited edition tote, made out of the rain-delay tarp from Fenway Park that protected the infield during the Boston Red Sox 2013 season.

Officially licensed by Major League Baseball Properties Inc., the boat and tote bags are priced at $59.95 and will only be available in limited quantities at select L.L. Bean stores beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 20.

Participating stores include L.L. Bean’s flagship store in Freeport, its Massachusetts stores in Burlington, Dedham, Mansfield, L.L. Bean’s pop-up store at the Natick Mall in Natick (on sale at 10 a.m. at this location), as well as L.L. Bean’s South Windsor, Conn., store. The bags will also be available at the Yawkey Way Store, across from Fenway Park beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Due to anticipated demand, sales will be limited to one per customer. Twenty percent of the net proceeds from the sale of these bags will be donated to the Jimmy Fund, a nonprofit organization that supports Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

“Here at L.L. Bean, we’ve been fans of the Red Sox for more than 100 years, through thick and thin,” said Kelly Warsky, partnership marketing manager at L.L. Bean. “We’re giving L.L. Bean and Red Sox fans the chance to own a piece of history from two of New England’s most beloved icons.”

The Red Sox World Series Commemorative Boat and Tote is trimmed with red handles carrying the dates of every Red Sox World Series Championship since their first in 1903. It will also feature a specially designed baseball diamond-inspired patch with the Red Sox logo.

The Red Sox and L.L. Bean have enjoyed a longstanding partnership which most recently included turning the 2011 and 2012 Fenway rain-delay tarp into iconic boat and tote bags for fans.
