MARGARET PARSONS’ “MANY MOONS AGO”

MARGARET PARSONS’ “MANY MOONS AGO”

It is an occasion for parents, artists and art lovers. All hands work together to make this a community effort for the community’s art education. Art education builds and strengthens communities crossing boundaries of age, gender and ideology.

Will Wilkoff, a perennial favorite among art buyers, has donated one of his paintings to the Arts Are Elementary program. It is currently being raffled through Arts Are Elementary representatives and also securely on line through Sept. 25th at https://rafflecreator.com/p ages/2846/10×10-&-arts-areelementary. Tickets will continue to be sold during the venue preview hours and the night of the 10×10 Event. The drawing will take place on the night of September 26th at the St. Paul’s Parish Hall. The winner need not be present to win.

This annual event is a fun- filled, fast- paced art sale which takes place at two places to accommodate the works of art.

Artists with the last names beginning from A through K are presented at the Curtis Memorial Library, while artists L-Z are located at the Parish Hall of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. These two venues are connected with a pleasant path lit by luminaries. Artists are often on hand to chat with art enthusiasts. Excited buyers enter the venues, go to the work they have previewed and raise their hands. A 10×10 helper removes the work and carries it to the cashier where the work is purchased and wrapped for its new home.

Maine artist Margaret Parsons’ piece, Many Moons Ago, has been chosen to represent this year’s 10×10 Benefit Art Exhibit & Sale, the much anticipated fundraiser for Arts Are Elementary. The runner-ups of the publicity contest poster were Kat Mead-von Huene for her oil painting on panel, Bath Rooftops and William Wilkoff ’s, Ithakos, for his gouache painting on panel.
