BRUNSWICK — Kaleb Bernier and Augie Lienert scored two touchdowns each as the Brunswick High School freshman football team claimed a 62-0 victory over Gardiner on Thursday.

The Dragons improved to 2-0 and visit Oxford Hills this upcoming Thursday.

Freddy Komiega, David Gordon, Sam Dorval (who scored while recovering a Tiger fumble), Forest Blankenship and Corey Tower tacked on one touchdown each. The offense rolled behind the offensive line blocking of Cody Dudley and Tom Steinman. Additionally, 2-point conversions were scored by Lienert, Bernier and Miah Larrabee, while Sean O’Connell kicked two extra points.

Defensively, the Dragons shut down the Tigers with strong play from the entire squad. Larrabee and Dalton Dickey each intercepted a pass. The defensive line never wavered, with Tiervan Gage, Logan Williams, Luke Dolley, Elijah Gagnon, Max Friedman and Alex Demars leading the team in tackles. Strong pass defense was also on display from Brian Brown, Larrabee and Blankenship.

Even the special teams excelled, pinning the Tigers deep in their own territory with strong performances by Kam Labbe, Dalton Dickey and Bernier.
