My husband and I set out to start a new business last fall, but it required legislation to make a go of it. Democratic Rep. Sara Gideon, our friend, worked tirelessly to write and pass the bill to open up a new market. I am inspired by her willingness to tackle big issues that prevent Mainers from making a living. She looks with fresh eyes at antiquated regulations, due for reinvention.

Sara leads the old-fashioned way. She prepares. She connects with peers and builds coalitions, across the state and the aisle. And her eloquence communicates her district’s goals: helping families like mine start businesses, protecting the health of all Mainers, creating new economic opportunities, and protecting our beautiful natural resources.

She exemplifies Maine values, including mine. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Sara for state representative in House District 48.
