BRUNSWICK — A public forum with Town Council candidates will be held Thursday, Oct. 2, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Town Office.

The forum will be hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Brunswick Area. State Rep. Andrew Mason, D-Topsham, will be the moderator.

Candidates will be given brief time limits for introductory and concluding statements, answer a question about the role of town manager and council, and take questions from the public.

Three council seats are up for election this year, in District 5 and District 7, and an at-large seat.

Kathy Wilson and John Portela are contesting the open at-large seat, while Dan Harris is running against incumbent Councilor Gerald Favreau in District 5.

Incumbent Councilor Sarah Brayman is unopposed in District 7.
