QUINCY, Mass. — Tyler Garnick scored on a breakaway with 3:52 left in the second overtime to lift the University of New England to a 1-0 win over Eastern Nazarene in a Commonwealth Coast Conference men’s soccer match Saturday.

Matthew Christie assisted on the goal. Aidan McParland made eight saves for the Monks (4-3-1, 1-2 Commonwealth Coast).

BATES 3, TRINITY 0: Nate Merchant chipped a shot past the keeper on a pass from Matt DiVite in the 17th minute, and the Bobcats (1-6-1, 1-4 NESCAC) went on to down the Bantams (4-2-1, 1-2-1) at Hartford, Connecticut.

Peabo Knoth added a goal in the 33rd minute, and Max Watson closed out the scoring in the 41st minute.

Bates keeper Sam Polito made six saves.

ALBERTUS MAGNUS 1, ST. JOSEPH’S 0: Alexis Garcia flicked the ball over the keeper off a long pass from Ben Colter in the 79th minute to lift the Falcons (7-1-2, 1-1-1 GNAC) over the Monks (2-9, 0-2) at New Haven, Connecticut.

Scott Benner finished with nine saves for St. Joseph’s.

COLBY 3, MIDDLEBURY 0: The Mules (5-3, 1-3 NESCAC) took the lead on an own goal in the 71st minute, and Ynika Onayemi added a pair of insurance goals as Colby beat the Panthers (5-1-1, 2-1-1) at Waterville.

UNE 1, EASTERN NAZARENE 0: Jackie Dickerson scored on a shot from the top of the penalty box 4:32 into the second overtime to lift the Nor’easters (6-2, 2-1 Commonwealth Coast) to a win over the Lions (4-7, 1-2) at Quincy, Massachusetts.

UNE nearly scored in the final minutes of the first half when Becca Murphy had a shot that hit the crossbar.

ST. JOSEPH’S 1, ALBERTUS MAGNUS 0: Danielle Daigle lofted a shot past the keeper from 40 yards to give the Monks (5-5, 2-1 GNAC) the lead just 23 seconds into the game, and they held on to edge the Falcons (5-5, 2-1) at Standish.

Brooke Troup made four saves to record the shutout.

PLYMOUTH STATE 2, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Courtney Barker of Yarmouth and Emily Crawford scored less than two minutes apart late in the first half as the Panthers (2-4, 1-1 Little East) defeated the Huskies (2-7-1, 0-2) at Gorham.

USM keeper Marissa Temple finished with seven saves.

BATES 2, TRINITY 1: Dakota Donovan scored 4:56 into overtime to lift the Bobcats (6-2, 3-2 NESCAC) past the Bantams (4-3-1, 0-3-1) at Hartford, Connecticut.

After falling behind in the 28th minute, Bates tied the game 6:35 into the second half on a goal by Erin Shea.

Bates keeper Sarah McCarthy finished with seven saves, including several from close range in the first half.

MIDDLEBURY 1, COLBY 0: Hannah Robinson scored for the Panthers (4-3, 1-3 NESCAC) in the 30th minute and they held on to edge the Mules (2-4-1, 0-3-1) at Waterville.

Emily Brook finished with 11 saves for Colby.

BRANDEIS 1, BOWDOIN 0: Emma Eddy hit the post and Sapir Edalati put home the rebound in the 79th minute as the Judges (8-1) edged the Polar Bears (6-1) at Waltham, Massachusetts.

UMAINE-MACHIAS 4, SOUTHERN MAINE C.C. 0: Brooklynne Lewis scored three goals to lead the Clippers (4-3) over the Seawolves (2-5-1) at Machias.

ST. JOSEPH’S 2, LASELL 0: Theresa Hendrix scored a pair of goals on penalty corner, and the Monks (6-1, 2-0 GNAC) blanked the Lasers (2-7, 0-2) at Standish.

Hendrix opened the scoring with an assist from Hayley Winslow in the 29th minute. She added an insurance goal 2:40 into the second half, assisted by Bailey Cutler.

UNE 6, ROGER WILLIAMS 0: Erin Bibber and Vonde Saunders each scored a pair of goals to lead the Nor’easters (6-2, 4-1 Commonwealth Coast) past the Hawks (6-5, 3-2) at Biddeford.

Beth Sullivan and Alex Staples added a goal apiece.

KEENE STATE 4, SOUTHERN MAINE 1: Four players scored for the Owls (5-4, 3-0 Little East) in a win over the Huskies (4-5, 1-2) at Keene, New Hampshire.

The Huskies cut the deficit to 4-1 in the 54th minute when Peyton Dostie converted a penalty stroke.

Amanda Kasbohm made four saves for the Huskies, and Allison Ward and Michaela Demers each had a defensive saves.

MIDDLEBURY 3, COLBY 1: The fifth-ranked Panthers (5-1, 3-1 NESCAC) got one goal in each half from Bridget Instrum in a win over the Mules (4-4, 0-4) at Waterville.

Colby was held scoreless until the 67th minute, when Caroline Ferguson scored off a play that started with a penalty corner.

TRINITY 2, BATES 0: Brenna Hobin opened the scoring in the 29th minute and Casey Quinn added an insurance goal early in the second half to lead the Bantams (5-2, 3-1 NESCAC) over the Bobcats (1-5, 0-5) at Hartford, Connecticut.

Christina Vega finished with eight saves for Bates.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

MAINE 2, NEW HAMPSHIRE 1: Kelsey MacSorley scored the go-ahead goal with 5:54 left in the second period and the Black Bears held on to edge the Wildcats in a season opener at Orono.

UNH took the lead just 3:39 into the game, but Maine tied it eight minutes later when Hailey Browne scored on an assist from Brooke Stacey.

Meghann Treacy made 25 saves to earn the win.
