LEWISTON — Max Chabot threw three touchdown passes Friday night to lead Deering to a 29-22 victory against Lewiston in an Eastern Class A football game.

Deering (2-3) took a 23-14 lead on a 19-yard pass from Chabot to Dominick Bernard with 57 seconds left in the third quarter.

The Blue Devils (0-5) cut it to 23-22 with 9:43 left in the game on a 3-yard run by Quintarian Brown and a 2-point conversion pass from Jared Rubin to William Curry.

Deering had the ball late in the fourth quarter when Lewiston allowed Kahlil Brown to score on a 20-yard run. The Blue Devils blocked the extra-point kick to keep the deficit at seven points.

The Rams then held Lewiston on downs in its final possession of the game.

OCEANSIDE 22, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 12: Preston Spear gained 109 yards and scored twice to lead the Mariners (1-4) over the Raiders (2-3) at Rockland.

Ryan Allender scored on a 38-yard pass to Elvis Bowen in the second quarter to give Oceanside a 6-0 halftime lead. After Spear scored his first touchdown early in the fourth quarter, Fryeburg answered on the first play after the kickoff with a 62-yard toss from Ryan Gullikson to Brandon Ludwig to cut the lead to 14-6.

A 22-yard run by Spear and conversion lengthened the lead to 22-6. Gullikson finished the scoring with a late 21-yard pass to Ludwig.

CHEVERUS 41, EDWARD LITTLE 7: Joe Fitzpatrick finished with more than 300 yards rushing and four touchdowns to lead the Stags (4-1) past the Red Eddies (0-5) at Auburn.

Fitzpatrick had 277 yards and three touchdowns in the first half as Cheverus built a 34-7 lead.

BONNY EAGLE 54, NOBLE 20: Zach Dubiel completed 11 of 14 passes for 192 yards and also rushed for three touchdowns to lead the Scots (4-1), who took a 21-0 lead and cruised past the Knights (0-5) at Standish.

Matt Smith rushed for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 12 carries, and Cam Theberge also rushed for two touchdowns for Bonny Eagle. The Scots also got 102 yards receiving from Ben Malloy on six receptions.

Both Noble touchdowns came in the second quarter on passes of 45 yards and 53 yards from Otto Keisker to Brandon Davis. The second touchdown cut the deficit to 28-12.

SCARBOROUGH 34, BIDDEFORD 13: Jack Hughes went 14 of 17 passing for 309 yards and three touchdown passes to lead the Red Storm (1-4) over the Tigers (3-2) at Biddeford.

Hughes completed a 68-yard first-quarter touchdown pass to Griffin Madden, then a 64-yarder to Milani Hicks late in the half.

Zach Carriero had 14 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown for Scarborough, which also had strong defense from its linebackers – Drew Leclair, Aren Dickman and Matt Cook.

Capen Macomber of Biddeford scored a first-half touchdown on a 40-yard fumble return.
