SACO — Austin McCrum rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown, and completed all four of his passes for 93 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to lead Thornton Academy to a 62-0 victory against Massabesic in a Western Class A football game.

Justin Boure gained 171 yards and Demel Ruff added 111 with three touchdowns for the Trojans (5-0), who led 49-0 at halftime.

PORTLAND 14, OXFORD HILLS 7: Joe Talbot scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 31-yard run with 1:28 left in the second quarter and the Bulldogs (3-2) held off the Vikings (2-3) in Portland.

The Vikings drove the ball into Portland territory late in the game but Dylan Bolduc intercepted to end the drive and run out the clock.

Portland opened the scoring in the first quarter on a touchdown run by Joe Esposito that was set up by an interception from Alex Oja.

The Vikings tied it on an 18-yard pass from Brady LaFrance to Kyle Dexter with 10:15 left in the half.

Owen Elliott and Derek Boissonnault also scored rushing touchdowns, and Ben Lambert, Corey Hart and Kevin Barrett each caught a touchdown pass against the Mustangs (1-4).

BOYS’ SOCCER

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 5, WELLS 1: Bryce Hayman had three goals and an assist, and Tyler St. Pierre added two goals and an assist as the Patriots (5-2-2) beat Wells (2-6-1) in Gray.

Nick Wuerthner scored for the Warriors.

John-Henry Villanueva had six saves for Gray-New Gloucester and Chandler Bridge 14 for Wells.

FALMOUTH 5, YARMOUTH 2: Luke Velas and Jake Grade scored one minute apart late in the first half to give the Yachtsmen (7-0-2) a 3-1 lead against the Clippers (6-2-1) at Yarmouth.

Velas finished with a pair of goals, and Jonah Spiegal and Ben Wuesthoff also scored.

Adam LaBrie had two goals for Yarmouth.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

BRUNSWICK 3, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 2: Julia Champagne, Kira Wolpow and Maeve Arthur scored to lift the Dragons (6-3-1) over the Broncos (6-2-1) at Brunswick.

Champagne, Heather Kinee, Emily Black and Lena Martin played strong games in the midfield for the Dragons.

Briana Cota scored both Hampden goals.

LAKE REGION 3, POLAND 1: Lauren Jakobs’ shot from a tight angle on the left slipped into the net to give Lake Region (4-4-1) a 2-1 lead against the Knights (1-7-2) at Poland.

Kristen Huntress’ penalty kick, her second goal of the game, made it 3-1 with 18 minutes left. Brooke Yorkey scored for Poland.

Devin Langadas had four saves for the Lakers, one on a penalty shot. Haley Whitworth stopped seven shots for the Knights.

MCAULEY 1, BONNY EAGLE 1: Ayla Tarte tied it for the Lions (2-5-2) off a corner kick with 44 seconds left in regulation against the Scots (1-6-2) at Standish.

Bonny Eagle took the lead after 26 minutes when Abby Cates scored on a direct kick from about 25 yards.

Kelsey Parkin made seven saves for the Scots. Chelsea Rairdon and Jordyn Carr combined for four saves for the Lions.

SACOPEE VALLEY 2, TRAIP ACADEMY 1: Courtney Ryan opened the scoring seven minutes into the second half and Brittany Ryan added a goal three minutes later as the Hawks (9-1) held off the Rangers (4-4-1) at South Hiram.

Traip cut the deficit to 2-1 on a penalty kick by Sadie Humiston with 25:54 left.

Hannah Manchester made five saves for the Hawks.

Lynne Moore stopped seven shots for the Rangers.

PORTLAND 1, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Kate Johnson scored in the 14th minute and the Bulldogs (6-3) held off the Red Riots (1-7-1) at Portland.

Taylor Crosby made two saves to record the shutout. Emma Russell had eight saves for South Portland.

MT. ARARAT 3, LAWRENCE 1: Libby Ouellette, Anna Manuel and Torri Pelletier scored for the Eagles (6-3-1) against Lawrence (2-6-2) at Topsham.

Morgan Boudreau answered for the Bulldogs with 28 seconds remaining.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 6, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1: Haley True scored twice for the Patriots (6-4), who had four goals in the second half to pull away from the Seagulls (2-7-2) at Gray.

Sarah Giggey, Kaelyn Woods, Hannah Dixon and Jaley Martin also scored for the Patriots.

Abigail Dubois answered for Old Orchard from Brianna Plante.

PORTLAND 2, BIDDEFORD 1: Taylor Sargent broke a 1-1 tie with 11:12 left as the Bulldogs (7-3) rallied to beat Biddeford (5-5) at Portland.

Gabby Wagabaza and Lauren McIntyre assisted on the winning goal.

Mallory Marmouras gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead midway through the first half. Kate Brewer tied it for Portland.

VOLLEYBALL

YARMOUTH 3, WASHINGTON ACADEMY 0: Heather Clark had 11 kills as Yarmouth (8-1) swept the Raiders (7-3), 25-22, 25-20 and 15-17 in East Machias.

Rachel Chille had 24 digs for the Clippers.

YARMOUTH 3, MACHIAS 0: Kenzie Sheehan served 19 points and Andrea St. Pierre lined seven aces to lead Yarmouth (9-1) in a 25-14, 15-11, 25-13 victory against the Bulldogs (8-2) in Machias.
